The members converging
On 18th September 2024, the ladies came from the different constituencies of Taita Taveta and converged at Mwatate junction. They started their trip to the bush where they spent 2 days on a practical tour learning about minerals. They were accompanied by Job Onsomu- Deputy Regional Mining Officer, Taita Taveta.

There are different types of gemstones in Taita Taveta. Among them are the green tsavorite, red ruby, tourmaline, sapphire etc. Any miner must know about the 4Cs of of gemstones; Colour, Clarity, Cracks and Carat.
